Age of participants: students in grades 5–12, adults.
Aim: To acquaint the participants with the literary works of the students of the Varniai Priests' Seminary, which cover the whole 19th century, to promote the old Lithuanian literature related to the origins of the Samogitian Diocesan Museum.
Short description of the activity:
Participants are shown a part of the exposition, which exhibits works and manuscripts published by the famous clergy of the Samogitian diocese, and reviews the 19th century. Lithuanian literature and the contribution of the students of the Samogitian Seminary of Priests (Motiejus Valančius, Antanas Baranauskas, Antanas Vienažindis, Antanas Strazdas, Jurgis Ambraziejus Pabrėža, Vincentas Juzumas, if necessary and others) and their place in Lithuanian literature are presented. Participants read their work in an authentic dialect and listen to vividly recited examples of poetry.
