Varniai Regional Park


In Varniai Regional Park you will see the most magnificent Samogitian mounds, dating back to the time of the Crusaders and Swordsmen (Šatrija, Girgždūtė, Moteraitis, Sprūdė, Vembutai mound, etc.) and the largest natural Samogitian lake - Lūkstas. It is the only lake in Lithuania where the waves shore amber. The park is rich in sacred architectural monuments and unique wooden architectural monuments. Unique cobblestone of Sietuva, the Debesnai Botanical Trail, Spigin's Horn Cognitive Trail. About 50 ancient Stone Age settlements, burials with traces of Kunda, Narva, Indo-European and later cultures have been found in the Pabiržulis Archaeological Reserve near Biržulis Lake. In Varniai Regional Park you will also find the heaviest oak in the Telšiai district - Skliausčių Oak (diameter 1.8 m). beauty.
