Lieplaukė St. St. George's Church

Church

1421–1842 Lieplaukė was the property of the Samogitian bishop. The church has been mentioned since 1613. The new church was built in 1621. (was a branch of Alsėdžiai parish). It was founded in 1627. burned by the Swedish army. 1673 restored. 1766 2 valak of land for the church.

1844 a parish was established. At the expense of the parishioners in 1861–1862. the current wooden church was built. It was founded in 1882. consecrated by Bishop Aleksandras Beresnevičius. During the First World War, the Germans took out 2 bells.

Church of the Latin cross plan, single tower. It has 6 altars. Cemetery fence stone masonry. It has a wooden belfry. Between it and the church is a wooden rectory.
