A botanical natural heritage object, located in the Telšiai district, in block 61 of the Jomantų Forest of the Survilai Forestry of the Telšiai Forestry Authority, in the northern part of the Varniai Regional Park. The height is 24 m, and the diameter is 0.9 m.
The specific age of the Jomantai oak is not specified, but it is said that the tree is very old. Its interior is burnt, many branches are withered. The educational trail of the Jomantai Forest leads towards the oak tree.
The oak tree was declared a natural monument in 1960, and was classified as a monument of local significance in 1987.
