DISCOVER THE TREASURES OF CASTLE EARTH CASTLE

Samogitian Museum "Alka" presents a new fragrant news in the printing house's paints - Chief. The book “Treasures of the Castles of Ceklio Land” compiled by the museologist Irma Kontautienė, which visually describes as many as 37 Samogitian mounds and the treasures hidden in them, is stored in Lithuanian archives and museums.

The legends about Samogitian mounds collected by Juozas Mickevičius and stored in the funds of the Samogitian Museum "Alka", the Kretinga Museum and the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore are published for the first time. The conventional symbols used in the book will help the reader to find the information they are interested in faster, travel around the mysterious Samogitia and discover the treasures of the castles of Ceklis land.

"If you want to see the legacy of the past tribes in northern Samogitia, do not dig mounds (they are protected not only by devils, but also by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania), better visit Lithuanian museums: here you will discover the treasures of our past," says I. Kontautienė.

The book “Treasures of Ceklio Land Castles” is an integral part of the project “Ceklio Land Castles” implemented by the Samogitian Museum “Alka”. The project was partly financed by the Lithuanian Culture Council and Telšiai District Municipality.

The book will soon be available in all Lithuanian libraries and some of them will be available at the Samogitian Museum "Alka".
