1938. Interwar Kaunas. As Lithuania celebrates the twentieth anniversary of its independence, the threat of imminent war is sparking on the European horizon. Worried about the future of the new state, Professor of Geography Feliksas Gruodis is coming up with a crazy plan. He proposes to the Government to create a backup Lithuania on the African continent. Here, in the event of danger, the country's population could relocate. A carefully planned idea needs the support of the government, but only the frustrated prime minister of the country believes in a professor. Until both men decide to save the others or themselves, the marriage of one of them collapses.
Director Karolis Kaupinis created a sarcastic allegory of today's threats and strengthened his name as a promising director in Lithuanian cinema. The film has already been recognized as the best at Athens and Riga film festivals.
