Telšiai Žemaitė Drama Theater is one of the oldest amateur theaters in Lithuania, known as the most nominated amateur theater, famous outside Lithuania, with successful touring in the USA, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Monaco, Morocco, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, In Russia. He is a member of the international theater organization AITA-IATA with a history of more than 100 years.
Currently, the theater is producing performances: national-realistic, comedy, dance, poetry theater dramaturgy, psychological dramas intertwined with surrealism and grotesque motifs. Theatrical festivals are organized every year, various kinds of celebrations and events are theatricalized, participation in creative projects, international and republican festivals.
